Lennie was born on October 17th, 1851 in Onslow Co., N. C..1   Lennie's father was John R. Fountain and her mother was Molsey A. Brown.  Her paternal grandparents were John R. Cutler and Mary Fountain; her maternal grandparents were Howell Brown and Jane Parker. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Jere Winfield, Thomas Ruffin, Nick, Mary Ann, Celia Caroline, Eliza and Kitsey.  She was the third youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 76 on April 1st, 1928.1
