Joel Faires 
Joel was born on December 10th, 1837 in Morgan County, Ohio.1 Joel's father was Thomas T. Faires and his mother was Mary B Gifford. His paternal grandparents were John Faires and Jane Hagerman; his maternal grandparents were Abraham Gifford and Patience Besse. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Perley, Manley, Lydia, Charity, Patience J., Ruth, Olive Ann and Esther. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died due to Acute Bronchitis at the age of 93 on January 19th, 1931 in West Liberty, Muscatine County, Iowa.1 -
