Laurent Modeste was born on November 26th, 1740.  Laurent Modeste's father was Pierre Doucet and her mother was Francoise Sylvestre.  Her maternal grandparents were Nicolas Sylvestre and Barbe Nepveu. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Athanese, Pierre, Joseph, Michel, Marie Genevieve, Marie Joseph, Marie Anges and Marguerite.
