Joseph was born on April 25th, 1730.  Joseph's father was Pierre Doucet and his mother was Francoise Sylvestre.  His maternal grandparents were Nicolas Sylvestre and Barbe Nepveu. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Athanese, Pierre, Michel, Marie Genevieve, Marie Joseph, Laurent Modeste, Marie Anges and Marguerite.
