Roger McKinley's father was Rom Dixon and his mother was Ethel Iris Banks. His paternal grandfather was Rom Dixon; his maternal grandparents were Luther McKinley Banks and Ruth Bryan. He had three brothers and a sister, named Billy Bryce, Gerald Douglas, Living and Mary Jo.-
