George was born on March 3rd, 1787.1   George's father was Casper Dilling and his mother was Christina Puterbaugh. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Casper, John, Conrad, Jacob, Henry, Catherine, Elizabeth, Christina and Susanna.  He was the oldest of the ten children.1
