Casper was born on December 4th, 1788.1   Casper's father was Casper Dilling and his mother was Christina Puterbaugh. He had five brothers and four sisters, named George, John, Conrad, Jacob, Henry, Catherine, Elizabeth, Christina and Susanna.  He was the second oldest of the ten children.1
