Lucinda was born in 1830 in Hanover, Graft., NH.1   Lucinda's father was Simeon Dewey and her mother was Lydia Higgans.  Her paternal grandparents were Simeon Dewey and Elizabeth Turner; her maternal grandparents were William Higgans and Keziah Littlefield. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Charles, Jesse Nelson, Joseph Bradley, John R., Lovina Emoretta, Lydia L. and Mary J.  She was the second oldest of the eight children. She had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Lorenzo Low, Francis Asbury, Charles Henry, Simeon J., Eliza, Eliza, Statia and Sophia Statia.1
