Franklin Smith Dewey 
Franklin Smith was born on March 27th, 1845 in Cambridge, MICH.1 Franklin Smith's father was Francis Asbury Dewey and his mother was Mary Ann Smith. His paternal grandparents were Simeon Dewey and Betsey Bigelow Knight; his maternal grandparents were Isaac Smith and Mary Selleck. He had four brothers and a sister, named George Henry, John William, Albert Francis, Isaac Simeon and Jane Statia. He was the second youngest of the six children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Lester Hoxie, Irving Allen and Mary Jane.1 -
