John W. DeWitt

John W. was born on October 27th, 1858 in Keyser Township, DeKalb, Indiana. John W.'s father was Calvin DeWitt and his mother was Nancy Shaw. His paternal grandparents were Williard DeWitt and Elizaberth Mosher; his maternal grandparents were Robert Shaw and Alice Jane Hopkinson. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Newton, Willard Spencer, Charlotte, Rhonda Ann, Almira, Emily, Arvilla, Rachel Jane and Sarah Ann. He was the youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 69 on March 19th, 1928 in Garrett, Indiana.
