Jehanne was born about 1501 in Antwerp, Belgium.1   Jehanne's father was Peter De Lichte and her mother was Kateline Scheelkens.  Her paternal grandfather was Wouter De Lichte; her maternal grandfather was Aart Scheelkens. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Aert, Wouter, Peter, Laureijs, Cornelia, Kateline and Anna.  She was the third oldest of the eight children.1
