Simeon C. was born about 1844 in Screven Co., GA.1   Simeon C.'s father was Simeon Burke and his mother was Anna Brinson.  His paternal grandparents were David Burke and Martha Belcher; his maternal grandparents were Adam Brinson and Elizabeth Murphree. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named James C., Adam M., David S., Jason B., Abram B., Mills Augustus, Francis Wright, Adolphus M., Elizabeth M. A., Martha Sarah Jane, Canarah L. L. and Ella.  He was the fourth oldest of the thirteen children.  He died about 1864.1
