James C. Burke 
James C. was born on September 26th, 1837 in Screven Co., GA.1 James C.'s father was Simeon Burke and his mother was Anna Brinson. His paternal grandparents were David Burke and Martha Belcher; his maternal grandparents were Adam Brinson and Elizabeth Murphree. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Adam M., David S., Simeon C., Jason B., Abram B., Mills Augustus, Francis Wright, Adolphus M., Elizabeth M. A., Martha Sarah Jane, Canarah L. L. and Ella. He was the oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 74 on May 12th, 1912.1 General Notes
