Mattie was born on April 26th, 1893 in Screven Co., GA.1 Mattie's father was Alphonso R. Burke and her mother was Adelina Dickson. Her maternal grandparents were William C. Dickson and Mary Ann Wilson. She had three brothers and three sisters, named James, Benjamin, David, Lella, Mary Lucinda and Essie. She died at the age of 86 on December 28th, 1979 in Bulloch Co., GA. She was buried in Bulloch Co., GA.1 1 General Notes
