Eliza was born about 1861 in California.1   Eliza's father was Milbury Burgett and her mother was Lucinda Rockholt.  Her paternal grandmother was Catharine Milbury; her maternal grandparents were John Rockholt and Amanda Unknown. She had a brother and seven sisters, named William, Sarah Ann, Harriett Ellen, Clemme Agnes, Lena, Eva Mae, Elizabeth and Rhoda.1
