Quincy was born in August 1894 in Screven Co., GA.1   Quincy's father was John L. Brinson and his mother was Emma Peel.  His maternal grandparents were Dempsey Peel and Ellender Sasser. He had four brothers and a sister, named Sidney, Clifford, Francis, Rexford and Ola.  He was the third youngest of the six children.1
