Jordan was born on March 31st, 1831 in Screven Co., GA.1 Jordan's father was Seth Boyet and his mother was Patience Moore. His paternal grandparents were James Boyette and Sabra Sasser; his maternal grandparents were John William Moore and Dicey Sikes. He had four brothers and six sisters, named William M., Thomas, John, James, Caroline, Roxie Ann, Sarah Ann Jane, Elvina, Elvina and Elizabeth.
