Ann was born in Harrold, Bedfordshire, England.¹ Ann's father was Robert Thomas Blott and her mother was Susan Susannah Selbee. Her paternal grandfather was Robert Blott. She had three brothers and six sisters, named John, George, Robert, Mary Woodford, Lydia Turin, Sarah Ellis, Anna, Elizabeth Green Tosier and Joanna.¹
