Miriam was born in Simsbury, cxt.1   Miriam's father was Jacob Bissell and her mother was Mary Gillette. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Samuel, Jonathan, Ephraim, William, Esther, Hannah, Martha, Mary and Sarah.1
