Johnnie was born on January 19th, 1906 in Sylvania, Screven Co., GA.1   Johnnie's father was Cuthbert Leanza Bazemore and his mother was Rozzie Posada Minchey.  His paternal grandparents were William H. Bazemore and Francis A. Wells; his maternal grandparents were Asbury B. Minchey and Georgia Ann Savannah McClellan. He had two brothers and a sister, named Sidney Albert, Floyd Kemp and Wadie Adel. He had a half-sister named Lessie Maybelle.  He died at the age of 3 on October 7th, 1909 in Sylvania, Screven Co., GA.1
