Margaret was born in Near Windle Hall,St. Helens,Prescot,Lncshr.1 Margaret's father was James Battersby and her mother was Jane Lilley. Her paternal grandparents were William Battersby and Elizabeth; her maternal grandparents were William Lilley and Mary. She had a brother and seven sisters, named William, Ellen, Elizabeth, Mary, Mary Ann, Sarah, Hannah and Jane Lily.1 -
