William was born before 1621 in Leyden Holland.1   William's father was William Bassett and his mother was Elizabeth Unknown. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Nathaniel, Joseph, Elizabeth, Sarah, Jane and Ruth.  He died on June 10th, 1670 in Sandwich, MA.2
