Living's father was Lummie Kizer Banks and his mother was Ollie Marie Tyra.  His paternal grandparents were Asbury Banks and Mary Lee Brooks; his maternal grandparents were Ebenezer Tyra and Margaret Tomlin. He had three brothers and a sister, named Stanley Wayne, Living, Living and Living.
