Lela Banes 
Lela was born in 1885 in Goodland, Indiana.1 Lela's father was William Banes and her mother was Aurelia Isabelle Spinney. Her paternal grandparents were William Banes and Betsy Ann Mills; her maternal grandparents were Arthur J. Spinney and Susanna Boyd. She had a brother and two sisters, named Rexford, Myrtle Isabelle and Bethel. She was the second youngest of the four children.1 -
