Allen McNeel's father was William Allen Baird and his mother was Mary Colorado Hamilton.  His paternal grandparents were William Allen Baird and Margaret Annetta McNeel; his maternal grandparents were Charlie Hamilton and Holland Truett Veatch. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Omer Lee, James Abraham, Ernest Orville, Hollie Truett, Margaret Anetta [Dot], Sarah Frances, Stella Elizabeth [Bess], Alice Jane [Bun], Grace Mae and Eva Lutites.
