John was born in 1785 in MD.1   John's father was John Arnold and his mother was Margaret Logue.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Arnold and Susannah Chapman; his maternal grandparents were James Logue and Mary. He had a brother and three sisters, named Elias, Honora, Margaret and Patience. He had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named John, Ralph, Joseph, David, William, Mary, Winifred and Margaret.  He died at the age of 66 on February 1st, 1851 in Pike Twp, Knox, OH.  He was buried in Armentrout Cem, Pike Twp, OH.1 1
