Soren was born on February 10th, 1815 in Vellerup, Frederiksborg, Denmark.1   Soren's father was Anders Jensen and his mother was Anna Sophie Kirstine Pedersdatter. He had two sisters named Karen Marie and Anna Catherine.  He was the oldest of the three children. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Anders, Rasmus, Lars, Karen Sophie and Kirstine.1
