Martha was born in 1855 in Collinsville, Madison Co, Illinois.1   Martha's father was Adam Ambrosius and her mother was Catherine Bradenstein.  Her paternal grandmother was Catherine. She had two brothers and a sister, named Nicolas, Conrad Adam and Elizabeth.  She was the youngest of the four children.1
