1   Abel's father was Jacob Aldrich and his mother was Huldah Thayer.  His paternal grandparents were George Aldrich and Katherine Seald. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Jacob, Seth, David, Peter, John, Moses, Huldah, Sarah, Rachel, Mercy and Rachel.1
