Cyrus was born in Porter County, Iowa.1   Cyrus' father was Edwin Craig Abbott and his mother was Mary Ann Wright. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Osceola Charles, Eldridge Lemual, James Arza, John Wright, Mack M., Rena Electa, Irene and Phelina.  He died in age 16, Fayette County, Iowa.1
