Alexander Orr Will
In the name of God, Amen, I ALEXANDER ORR of Caldwell County and State of Kentucky, being weak of body but in purfect mind and memory,thanks be given unto God, calling unto mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and I ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say princpaly and I first of all, I give and recommend my soul into the hand of Almighty God who gave it, and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a deacent Christian manner at the discreation of my executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God---And as sorting out such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form---That I give and bequeath to MARTHA my dearly beloved wife all my horse stock and one half of all my other stock viz cattle sheep and hogs and all my household furniture with the exception of what furniture and bedding my three daughters ably Polly and Nancy claims and own as their own property and I allow my said wife to enjoy the benefit and use of said stock and furniture during her lifetime and at her disease. I will to my beloved daughter ISBEL a horse to be worth seventy dollars and all the rest of the stock and furniture left by her at her disease to be equally divided amongst my eight children viz ALEX ORR, PEGGY CRAIG, MARTHA WATSON, ELIZABETH LAUGHLIN, HUGH ORR, JANE COOPER and POLLY AND NANCY ORR. And I also bequeath to my well beloved son WILLIAM ORR all the tract of land that I bought of DAVID SHAW that I have a right to and I also bequeath to him half of my cattle sheep and hog stock, all my farming utensils for his use and benefit. I also bequeath to my grandsons, WILLIAM CRAIG and ALEXANDER COOPER thirty dollars cash, to be collected on note of hand I have on Tasey Cooper---I also constitute and appoint my son WILLIAM ORR and son-in-law JOHN CRAIG to be my sole executors at this my last will and testament and I do herby uterly disallow, revoke and disannull all former testormunt wills and bequeaths heretofore by me made, notifying and confirming this and I no other to be my last will and I testamint in witness whereof I have hereunder set my hand and seal this 30th day of September 1817.
