Jesse Alexander was born on March 28th, 1845 in Graves Co., KY.1 Jesse Alexander's father was William McCain Orr and his mother was Nancy Matthews Adams. His paternal grandparents were Hugh Orr and Mary Finley; his maternal grandparents were Zadock B Adams and Elizabeth Isabell Parish. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Unknown, Joseph Warren, James Craig, William Henry, Benjamin Franklin, John Claiborn, Horace Lee, Mary Isabel, Margret Ann, Lucy Jane and Frances Caroline. He was the sixth youngest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 84 on October 31st, 1929 in Metropolis, Massac, IL. He was buried in 1929 in Ft Massic Cemetery, IL.2 1 General Notes
