Jacob was born in 1847 in TN.1 Jacob's father was Alexander Orr and his mother was Loretta Orr. His paternal grandparents were William Orr and Elizabeth McElwain Orr. He had three brothers named Wm James, Mickle John and Alexander Reddick. He was the oldest of the four children.-
