His paternal grandparents were James Orr and Elizabeth Reid; his maternal grandfather was Alexander McElwain. He had a brother named John. He was the older of the two children. Gayle--thanks for your email. I am just starting to send replies in
this fashion and find that some in which I include my email address
has that address blanked out when I go back to it. What am I doing
wrong? My Orr line came from Ballygowan, County Down, Ireland in
the 1790s. Immigrant Ancestor was William Orr. He came to
Montgomery Co. MD---(Baltimore) His brother, Hugh, also came
at the same time. Wm. md Elizabeth McElwain on Dec 17, 1801.
Before the 1810 Census he moved his family to Logan County KY.
