Eliza Kortright was born on December 5th, 1796 in Fredricksburg, Spotsylvania, VA, USA.1 Eliza Kortright's father was President James Monroe and her mother was Elizabeth Kortright Monroe. Her paternal grandparents were Spence Monroe and Elizabeth Jones; her maternal grandfather was Lawrence Kortright. She had a brother and a sister, named James Spence and Maria. She was the oldest of the three children. She died at the age of 38 on September 23rd, 1835 in Pere La Chaise, Paris, France.1 -
