Bessie was born on February 14th, 1901 in Grayson Co., KY.1 Bessie's father was Henry Josh Dennison and her mother was Lydia Jane Chancellor. Her paternal grandparents were Henry Clay(Josh) Dennison and Eliza Ann Weedman. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Roy Lee, Estel, Stanley Chancellor, Harlan, Percy, Vera, Hazel Gladys and Anna Bell.-
