Francis Lewis was born on February 20th, 1847 in Albatross, LA.1 Francis Lewis' father was William A.F. Barry and her mother was Jane Meriwether Taylor. Her paternal grandparents were Valentine Daniel Barry and Martha Howell Adams; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Horton Taylor and Frances Ann Meriwether Lewis. She had a brother and four sisters, named Thomas Taylor, Williah Jane, Laura Eudora, Julia Darling and Minnie Christian. She was the oldest of the six children. She had two half-brothers named Daniel F. and William Henry.-
