Mary Jane was born in 1832. Mary Jane's father was John Armstrong and her mother was Nancy Orr. Her maternal grandparents were Alexander Orr and Martha. She had two brothers and a sister, named James C, Alexander Lewis and Sarah Ann. She was the second youngest of the four children.-
