Auguste was born in 1845.1   Auguste's father was Friedrich Rosendahl and her mother was Maria Catherine Hobach. She had five brothers and a sister, named Johann Friedrich, August, Carl, Wilhelm, Heinrich and Johanne.  She was the youngest of the seven children.1
