Carl August Huttenhoff 
Carl August was born on October 14th, 1858 in Schwelm, Westfalen, Prussia.1 Carl August's father was Carl August Huttenhoff and his mother was Wilhelmine Schemmann. His paternal grandparents were Johann Peter Huttenhoff and Anna Catherina Kotting; his maternal grandparents were Friedrich Schemmann and Carolina Rahlenbeck. He had four brothers named Carl Friedrich, Wilhelm, Heinrich and Julius. He was the second oldest of the five children.1 -
