Joan was born about 1291 in Barnstaple, Devon, England.1 Joan's father was William III Fitz Martin and her mother was Eleanor Fitz Piers. Her paternal grandparents were Nicholas Fitz Martin and Maud De Brian; her maternal grandparents were Reginald Fitz Piers and Joan Vivonia. She was an only child. She died before August 1st, 1322.1 -
