John Emerson was born on April 11th, 1852.1 John Emerson's father was Elbert Emberson Cooper and his mother was Nancy Wann. His paternal grandparents were Henry Cooper and Patience Back. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Daniel Jackson, Jacob Calvin, Riley Davis, Elbert Woods, William Henry, James Shelby, Elizabeth Ann, Sarah Jane, Louisa Ellen, Lydia Margaret and Nancy Patience.1 -
