John Morris was born on February 13th, 1908 in Fort Valley, Peach, GA.1   John Morris' father was William Elmer Champion and his mother was Ella Lula Bryant.  His paternal grandparents were William Brastus Champion and Emma Melissa Hartley; his maternal grandparents were W. Thomas Bryant and Isabelle Smith. He had four brothers and two sisters, named William Heyward, Elmer Franklin, Thomas Gilliam, Edwin Bryant (Jack), Annie Belle and Nettie Lou.  He died at the age of 74 on September 29th, 1982 in Macon, Bibb, GA.1
