Simon was born on September 6th, 1835 in Potton, Brome, Quebec, Canada. Simon's father was Daniel Sargent and his mother was Susan Aiken. His paternal grandparents were Ezra Sargent and Hannah Rynes. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Ezra, Nathaniel, Jared, Daniel, Alonzo, Martha, Amanda, Elvira, Mary N., Maria and Sophia. He was the oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 73 on July 23rd, 1909.-
