Henry II was born in 1133 in Le Mans, Sarthe, France.  Henry II's father was Geoffrey V Plantagenet and his mother was Matilda Maud Beauclerc.  His paternal grandparents were Foulques V De Anjou and Ermengarde Du Maine; his maternal grandparents were Henry Beauclerc and Matilda Atheling. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Hamelin and Constance.  He died at the age of 56 in 1189 in Chinon, Indre-et-Loire, France.  He was buried on July 8th, 1189 in Fontevrault Abbey.
