Chlotilde was born about 0650. Chlotilde's father was Mayor d'Austrasia, Bishop of Metz Anchises(Ansegisel) and her mother was Saint Begga. Her paternal grandparents were Bishop of Metz, Saint Arnoldus II and Dode(Clothilde) d'Heristal; her maternal grandfather is Pepin and her maternal grandmother was Iduberga(Itta). She had three brothers named Pepin Martel, Martin and Haldan. She is the second youngest of the four children.-
