Thomas was born on July 9th, 1577 in Wherwell, Hampshire, England. Thomas' father was Thomas Leighton West and his mother was Anna Knollys. His paternal grandfather was William West and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Strange; his maternal grandparents were Francis Knollys and Catherine Cary. He had two brothers named Francis and John. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 40 on June 7th, 1618 in At sea..General Notes
