Alice was born in 1707 in Rapidan, Orange Co., VA. Alice's father was Francis Thornton and her mother is Mary Taliaferro. Her paternal grandfather was William Thornton and her paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Fitzhugh; her maternal grandparents were John Taliaferro and Sarah Smith. She had a sister named Elizabeth Mary. She was the older of the two children. She died at the age of 32 in 1739 in Bloomsbury, Orange Co., VA. She was buried in Bloomsbury Cemetery, Rapidan, Orange Co., VA.-
