Francis was born in 1498 in East Newton, Yorkshire, England. Francis' father was Robert Thornton and his mother is Jane Layton. His paternal grandfather was William Thornton and his paternal grandmother is Agnes Aldborough. He was an only child. He died at the age of 68 on April 12th, 1566.General Notes
