John Stubbs 
John was born in 1786 in Deep River, Guilford, NC. John's father was Isaac Stubbs and his mother was Margaret Carter. His paternal grandparents were John Stubbs and Esther Maddock; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Carter and Mary Barnes. He had four brothers and two sisters, named William, Samuel, Isaac, Zimri, Achsah and Hannah. He is the oldest of the seven children.General Notes
